Hi All Justin Bosler and I had the opportunity to enjoy two very lovely godwits in Sturgeon Creek, just north of Point Pelee National Park, late this afternoon (we tried to post from the field and my Blackberry was not behaving). Karl Overman found them this morning and let me know where they were - I arrived to the viewing platform behind the Pelee Days Inn, shortly before 5 pm and was able to find both birds easily. For the majority of the time, they were working the shore on the Days Inn side of the creek, though both have moved around to the other side at occassions. With a little patience this afternoon, waiting on the platform paid off with both godwits coming withing 20m of the platform. In addition to the godwits, we had stellar looks at two long-billed dowitchers, greater and lesser yellowlegs, a small flock of Dunlin and a single snipe. In all, a great little bit of birding this afternoon. Good Birding!
