OntBirders, A single Cackling Goose with two interior Canada Geese was first observed by Ron Tozer this morning (October 21) at the Opeongo Access Point in Algonquin Provincial Park. The Opeongo Access Point is 6 km north of Highway 60 at km 46.3. The goose was observed along the shoreline and feeding on grass around the Access Point Office and outfitter store.
The bird was still present as of noon today. This is the fourth record of this species in Algonquin Park.
