A brisk West wind kept migrating raptors from taking the lakefront route on
Oct.25.
A very special welcome to Charlie Adey, after his 1 month sojourn in
Australia.
At Cranberry we have a good number of "resident" hawks, including 3-4
Red-taileds,
3-4 N.Harriers, 2 Cooper's, 1 Sharp-shinned and 1 N.Goshawk. The latter put
on
quite a show for us today.
Migrating raptors--2 Turkey Vultures, 2 Sharp-shinneds, 1 Cooper's, 1
N.Goshawk,
4 Red-taileds, 1 Am.Kestrel, 2 Merlin, 1 Peregrine falcon. SEE TABLE BELOW
Non-raptors: 5 or more RUSTY BLACKBIRDS, WILSON'S SNIPE, both Yellowlegs,
and FOX SPARROW. YESTERDAY WE HAD A BRIEF VISIT BY OUR FIRST
IN THE FALL AMERICAN TREE SPARROW
