It went from around 95% cloudy down to 10% cloudy late in the day. The wind was East-South-East, and very light all day. Raptor Observations: I total of 588 raptors were counted today. 478 were Turkey Vultures. 1 Golden Eagle did go over in the early afternoon. Not much else but kind of nice after the Southwest winds of the past few days and rain. Non-raptor Observations: The first few flocks of Tundra Swans went over today. Several Thousand American Crows went over today. One single Dunlin also went over. 28 Tundra Swans were counted in all, within 3 different flocks. Predictions: Tuesday look to have some rain very early, like around 5:00am, then again at around 1:00pm. It should be warm again, so birds might use that to move. However they said that the winds should be light and from the Southwest. If so it could be slow again. I think it should be about the same as today, maybe another Golden Eagle, but could take a few hours until the warmer part of the day. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Seth Cutright ([email protected]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
