Expect the gate to be locked on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays for the remainder of the season. Weather: Overcast skies with calm West-northwest to West winds at 1 to 3 mph becoming Southwest by noon and then swinging around to Southeast by mid-PM. Temps. ranged from 11.7 to 13.2C. Visibility poor to fair. Raptor Observations: A slow day for migrating raptors with ominous overcast skies and light and variable winds. Non-raptor Observations: 15 species of waterfowl, including 7 FOF Tundra Swans and 13 Canvasbacks. Great Blue Heron- 24, Great Egret- 15, Black-crowned Night-heron- 3 (1 subad., 2 juv.)
