Hello Ontbirds,

For what it's worth, I had a late TENNESSEE WARBLER this morning at Holiday
Beach C.A. in Amherstburg (Essex Co.). Shortly after arriving at the Hawk
Tower, I heard the distinctive sharp *tik* note, looked down, and saw a
brightly-marked, hatch-year Tennessee Warbler loosely associated with the
regular group of American Tree Sparrows. It soon moved off to the east with
the sparrows and was not seen again. Orange-crowned was easily ruled out by
the pale supercilium; vibrant yellow-green upperparts; thin, whitish-buff
wingbar; yellowish wash across the breast and belly; white undertail
coverts; relatively short tail; and behaviour. An unexpected little gem to
kick off an outstanding day of raptor migration at Holiday Beach.
Good birding,
Justin
