Visitors:
Around 15 people came out today. A few of those being birders from Ohio
too. So thanks to all who came out.
Weather:
Today had wind around 10-15mph and from the Northeast most of the day.
Clear visibility with only 10% cloud cover all day. With most of the cloud
cover being out in the background to the East.
Raptor Observations:
It started out really fast and really well early in the day. From about
9:00am-11:00am a good movement went on. Then for some reason it really
slowed up. 303 were counted with 182 Red-tailed Hawks, 68 Red-shouldered
Hawks, 1 Rough-legged Hawk, and 6 Golden Eagles made up most of the flight.
Non-raptor Observations:
A flock of Snow Buntings went past, and a total of 6 Sandhill Cranes also
went over. One flock of 4 and another of just 2 went past. A few Tundra
Swans also went over.
Predictions:
It should be an OK day Thursday with it being Sunny and lighter Northeast
or East winds.
