This message is posted with the permission the Ontbirds coordinator. Hello Ontario Birders. Tomorrow, December 1st, starts the beginning of the Ontario winter birding season. I have volunteered to coordinate this year's Ontario winter bird list again, and Blake Maybank will be hosting the results again on his website. The link is as follows: http://tinyurl.com/onwinter During the 2008/2009 winter birding season of December 1st to February 28th Ontario birders tallied a total of 197 species. Hopefully with this year's as yet unseen freeze up, and birds like the now famous Brampton Phainopepla still hanging in, we can hit the 200 species mark. Just post your sightings to Ontbirds as usual, and I will send an update message to Ontbirds once a month so you can check the status of the list to date and then advise me personally if we are missing any species that you might have seen but did not post to Ontbirds. So, let's all have fun and get out there and enjoy the winter birding season.
