With great difficulty I relocated the Barnacle Goose this morning at about 10 am on the escarpment and about no fewer than 15 km from the foot of Christie Rd where it has been originally been reported.. It was essentially where Gerry Whitworth found it yesterday only one corn field farther south than the one he described. It was very difficult to pick out I have to say.
The best way to get there, is to take the Bartlett exit off the QEW which is east of the Christie exit on earlier posts. Go towards the escarpment and you will see that Bartlett doesn't go up! Go one road west, back into town and turn left up Park Road which you will see, goes up the escarpment. At the top, keep going south 0.6km past Elm Tree Road. The bird was with a large collection of Canadas feeding in the corn field on the west side of Park Rd.
