All the cells at West Perth Wetlands are open with adequate water in each. The
recent construction has produced some fine beach areas and islands that should
provide good shorebird habitat.
Today there were lots of waterfowl including Ring-necked Duck, Common
Merganser, and Bufflehead. The only shorebirds were Killdeer.
Unlike many sewage lagoons that require permits, Mitchell welcomes visitors
with a parking lot and mowed berms (sp?) to walk on and view from.

West Perth Wetlands are on the south side of Mitchell. From Ontario Street
(Hwy 8) travel south on Wellington Street to the end. Cross Frank Street and
drive the gravel beside the ball field to the parking lot.
