Shortly after 10am I found a Harris Sparrow foraging on the trails with about
20 other sparrows(white-throats, white-crowns, song) at the north end of Cool
Hollow. Cool Hollow in the Silver Maple woods in the south east corner of the
Oshawa Second Marsh. From the GM parking lot instead of turning right towards
the viewing platform turn left and the trail will take you south to Cool Hollow.

morning there were 10 species of shorebirds present including Wilson's
Phalarope(2), Short-billed Dowitcher Solitary Sandpiper and Black-bellied

11 Little Gulls
5 Wood Ducks (among 15 species of waterfowl present)
7 White-winged Scoters in the lake
American Redstart and Chestnut-sided Warblers among the 6 warbler species
observed.

Directions

Farewell St. Colonel Sam Drive. Turn East onto Colonel Sam Drive and follow
to the parking lot at the GM Headquarters. Park in the west parking lot
