At about 7:00 this evening, I found a Clay-colored Sparrow beside the RL
Clark Filtration Plant in Toronto. It was near the south-east corner of
the filtration plant near some construction trailers, in a grove of
young deciduous trees.
Just to the south (20 or 30 metres), next to the paved path, an adult
male Orchard Oriole was singing. He might be on territory. I found him
there 2 days ago in the presence of 2 females. I didn't see females
this evening.
Also on the east side of the filtration plant, but at the north end,
were 4 Bobolinks: 3 males and one female.
Other sparrows: White-crowned, White-throated, Savannah, Lincoln's and
Chipping.
The RL Clark Filtration Plant is on 23rd Street, south of Lake Shore
Blvd. West, in Toronto. It can be accessed from 23rd Street or one
block east, from Colonel Samuel Smith Park at the foot of Kipling
Avenue, south of Lake Shore Blvd W.
