I found a Henslow's Sparrow this evening (around 7:00 PM) along the West Beach
footpath at Point Pelee National Park. The bird was viewed well for 10 minutes
as it skulked around the base of some shrubs and in the grasses. The location
is about 300-400 meters south of the West Beach parking lot opposite the
visitor's centre.
Also of note - an Eared Grebe in alternate plumage was observed near the back
of cell 4 at the Port Stanley Sewage Lagoons by myself and a few others at
around 2:15 PM. 40+ Whimbrel were present on the pier in Port Stanley Harbour
from 11:30 AM to approximately 1:30 PM before taking off to the west. Also seen
by Dennis and Bev Rock.
Good birding,
Josh Vandermeulen
Directions to the Port Stanley lagoons courtesy of Dave Martin:
Port Stanley lagoons are NW of Port Stanley. From St. Thomas drive south on Cty

Warren Street / Cty Rd 21. Continue through Carlow Rd and drive up a steep and
winding hill. Turn right on Scotch Line
and follow this road to the lagoons on your left. There are two viewing stands
that provide views over Cells 1& 2 and 3 & 4.
