Angie and I spent yesterdaybirding along Reg. Rd. 24 and down to Long Point Big
Creek Marsh. Luckily, it stopped raining by 9:30.

At Bachus Woods North, we found NO Prothonatary Warbler but had looks at and
song of a Cerulean Warbler halfway between road 24 and 4th concession in the
access road. Most of the usual suspects weere there, including a number of
Hooded Warblers. A pair of Broad-winged Hawks were calling but we only saw one
of them.

Access to this wood is an entrance on Road 24 (to the south) halfway between
Road 59 and East Quarter line road (southwest of Simcoe going west from the St.
Williams Forestry Station).

We had looks and songs of the Acadian Flycatcher in Spooky Hollow in the early
evening, along with the usual birds.
Spooky Holow road is closer to Turkey Point: from Simcoe, take road 24 south
and go left on Charlotte West Quarter line road, go right at the big cure onto
Charlotte Road 2, then immediately left onto Spooky Hollow Rd. Access is just
across the stream at the bottom of the hill on the right.

At the Big Creek Marsh walkway/causeway (parking lot and signs near the end of
road 59 not quite to the "town" of Long Point) we had many Black Terns, Common
Moorhens calling, and a pair of Sandhill Cranes feeding, but gradually faded
into a probable nest.

Cheers,
Ken
