At 7:30 this Sunday morning on the mudflat at the base of the causeway at Shirleys Bay, there were about 20 Least Sandpipers, several Solitary and Spotted Sandpipers and one Short-billed Dowitcher. Also large numbers of Killdeer and Lesser Yellowlegs. Along with the usual Great Blue Herons and molting ducks there were two Great Egrets, one quite close in the inner bay.
