Folks

There were 7 juv. Buff-breasted Sandpipers on the Sod Farm on Lake St. George
Rd just to the east of Highway 17 which runs north/south at this point. They
were present as late as 5:30pm today Aug.20/2010. Although this species is a
fairly regular late summer migrant across the river at Whitefish Point,
Michigan it is a quite rare find on this side of the river and these are first
ones I have seen in Algoma District. It looks like a banner year for this sp.
with all the reports from S. Ontario and many reports from the UP of Michigan.
