Highlights of Niagara Frontier Region reports from September 23 through October 7.

September 27, two RED-NECKED PHALAROPES at the first pond after the tunnel at the Batavia Waste Water Plant. Plus, EARED GREBE has returned to the plant ponds.

On Lake Ontario at Fort Niagara State Park, September 29, three PARASITIC JAEGERS chasing COMMON TERNS. Also PEREGRINE FALCON chasing BONAPARTE'S GULLS.

September 29, a single PINE SISKIN at a feeder on Lewis Road in South Wales. Another PINE SISKIN, October 4, over the mounds at Tifft Nature Preserve in Buffalo.

Other recent reports from Tifft Nature Preserve were highlighted by an ORANGE-CR. WARBLER October 1 and 4. Also, YELLOW-B. SAPSUCKER, BLUE-HEADED VIREO, RED-EYED VIREO, WINTER WREN, VEERY, GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH, SWAINSON'S THRUSH, HERMIT THRUSH, SCARLET TANAGER, several LINCOLN'S SPARROWS, WHITE-THR. SPARROW and WHITE-CR. SPARROW.

ORANGE-CR. WARBLER was also reported October 2 at Goat Island in Niagara Falls, New York, along with 150
 Yellow-rumped Warblers.

Incoming gulls and waterfowl included three L. BLACK-B. GULLS at Goat Island. And, on Lake Erie off LaSalle Park in Buffalo, 52 SURF SCOTERS with 2 REDHEADS and 4 GREATER SCAUP, plus CASPIAN TERN and several AMERICAN PIPITS.

Other recent reports - 3 BALD EAGLES and a MERLIN on Bartel Road in the Tonawanda Wildlife Management Area. OSPREY with a fish over Ellicott Creek at Amherst State Park. Two GREAT HORNED OWLS calling by the marshes in the Tillman Wildlife Management Area in Clarence. On the West River Parkway on Grand Island, 10 WILD TURKEYS and a COOPER'S HAWK. Widespread reports of RED-BR. NUTHATCH, BROWN CREEPER, CEDAR WAXWING, DARK-EYED JUNCO, ROSE-BR. GROSBEAK and PURPLE FINCH. And, a leucistic, or pale-white, D.-CREST. CORMORANT on Lake Ontario in Wilson, at the Route 18 and 425 pier.
