Weather: Sunny and warm with a high of 23C. Winds were moderate WNW to W 10-14 km/hr. Raptor Observations: A slow day with only a few hundred Turkey Vultures and fair numbers of Sharp-shins. The highlight was two juv. Peregrines passing in the 2 pm DST hour, both of which gave great looks. Non-raptor Observations: Just a few today including 11 Pine Siskins (some perching in nearby trees) and 3 sp. of Warblers (2 Palm, 6 Yellow-rump, and 2 "Baypolls"). Day 3 for the Greater Yellowlegs on the pond, while 20+ Bonaparte's Gulls were foraging out over the lake with Ring-bills in the morning. Predictions: Sunny with W winds 20 km/hr. High of 23C. Could be good, but might be another slow day given the flights of the last few days. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Jim Pawlicki ([email protected]) Holiday Beach Migration Observatory information may be found at: http://hbmo.org/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
