Hello Birders,

Today, at about 11 AM, I had two White-winged Crossbills fly calling
overhead at the Kortright Centre parking lot.

Also, yesterday, while backpacking in Algonquin park's interior, I had a
flock of 2 and another of 23 White-winged Crossbill overhead. They're
moving, folks, and wherever they came from and wherever they're going,
they're going, so be on the lookout!

Also in Algonquin were Red Crossbill, Pine Grosbeak and Common Redpoll (My
300th bird for the year!) - all overhead in the interior, Western Uplands
Backpacking Trail.

Kortright was otherwise quiet, but there was a Northern Shrike on the road
in from Pine Valley drive. Eastern Bluebirds look like they're attempting to
overwinter in the field just at the trailheads. Two years ago they were
unsuccessful.

Directions:

The Kortright Centre is located three kilometers west of Highway 400
and one kilometer south of Major Mackenzie Drive at 9550 Pine Valley
Drive in Woodbridge.

Good Birding!
