Hello Everyone.
Yesterday it was thousands of CANADA GEESE. Today
it was the turn of SANDHILL CRANES.
Cynthia Cook down Glendale Beach Rd. had 4 flocks of SANDHILL CRANES totalling
325 birds moving SW down the shore of Lake Huron. By 3pm. the movement was
over.
Also today there were many REDTAILS and a few KESTRELS hunting from perches
along the roadsides. Frequently when the raptors are out hunting in the
middle of the day it indicates that they are hungry and hunting is going to be
difficult within a few hours.
Over 40 years of driving 35 Km to work etc.in Lambton County, the birds have
occasionally beaten the weather forecasts in this way!
Good Birding.
Alf. Rider
Forest.
