Hey Birders,

I decided at the last minute to take a rip down to Long Point AND over to
Mitchell to check out the Wilson's Phalarope.

The Wilson's Phalarope, was easily seen, with good looks, in the fenced off
lagoon in the company of a single Ruddy Duck. Pretty bizarre! Looks like
there's more than one crazy Wilson's Phalarope in the province...

This morning my Dad and I booked it down to Long Point. We had the male Spotted
Towhee at George and Pat Finney's feeder as soon as we arrived and got some
great looks. Driving west from Port Rowan we had the following interesting
sightings:
530+ Sandhill Crane's
27 Snow Geese - 3 of which were Greater's
4 Greater White-fronted Geese - flew by and landed in the field directly north
of Lee Brown's, we could see them with some patience as they poked in and out
of the corn from the viewing stand

Other interesting sightings around Long Point:
2 Red Crossbill's
2 separate Turkey Vultures
1 Common Yellowthroat - Big Creek
7,000(?) American Coots

Directions (Mitchell)

Long Point - take highway 59 south from Woodstock, the Towhee is at 3 house
south of the Esso in Porth Rowan and house # 1024, walk around the north side

geese.
