Winter listers:

In spite of the blast of winter the area has received, the juvenile Spotted
Sandpiper found by Tim King on Dec 11th was still at Port Weller East (St
Catharines) at 1:00 p.m. today. If you are walking towards the point along
the east shore the bird was feeding along the rocky shoreline past the gated
and fenced St Catharines marina but before you get to the section of
shoreline that is lined with Gabion baskets (crated rocks). Thanks Tim!

There was also a single White-fronted Goose in with a small group of Canada
Geese in the Marina cove itself. In this same group was a bird that appeared
to be a Canada x White-fronted hybrid.

As an aside, yesterday there was a Pied-billed Grebe at the Port Dalhousie
marina in with some Coots and more than a dozen Double-crested Cormorants.

Cheers
Barb Charlton
