The 7th Saugeen Shores count was held on Wednesday, January 5th and a total of 
46 species were observed along with 3 species found during count week.  

Four new species to the count - Peregrine Falcon, Short-eared Owl, Ruby-crowned 
Kinglet and White-throated Sparrow - brings the cumulative total to 88 species.

A Golden Eagle was observed for the third year in a row.  Gull and Snow Bunting 
numbers were unusually low.  No Snowy Owls were located.  Wild Turkey numbers 
were very high.
