Ontbirders,

The Leconte's Sparrow reported yesterday from Pittock Lake PP was still in the
same location this morning, easily refound and photographed by Jeff and Richard
Skevington.

The bird showed very well, sitting up for minutes at a time, in the weedy areas
of the park. Last seen, the bird flew well south [150m], to the edge of the
lake
near a large cattail patch. So, if it does not return to the original site, it
may be much harder to find.

Directions - From Vansittart, go north to 59 Hwy. Travel 1 km. Take Pittock
Park
Road east to the park gates. The park is not yet open, so park at the gate and
walk in. Follow the paved road to the west. It will turn to gravel and pass
over
a creek that empties into Pittock Lake. Just west and north of the creek you
will see an area of weedy meadow.

Cheers,
