Hey there. Am birding on Amherst Island and came upon a Say's Phoebe. Nice alternative/breeding plumage. I first saw it about 9 am. along Second Concession on the south side of the road. It was on the north/south fence line to the west of the house numbered 4725. It disappeared to the east behind the house. An hour later I saw it in a small treed area half a km to the east of the barns at 4295. I watched for it to come back to the road but it stayed well back. Perhaps it is associating with those buildings especially the barns at 4295. Please do not leave the road as it private property. I talked to the rancher who visits the farm daily and he was not wanting people going onto the property. I will be on the island for some time yet so will repost should I see it again.
Directions Take Ferry from Millhaven to Amherst. Go south from the dock to the fourway stop. Proceed south in Stella 40 Foot Road to 2nd Concession Road. Turn west and drive four or five km looking for the bird along the wires near barns at 4295. Again. Will repost if I see it again while I am here.
