Hi Everyone

As I'm sitting at my desk, there are more than six species of warblers
flitting around outside my window, which I hope is a good sign for this
weekend and the OFO Convention!

Last weekend was very active, with the numbers dropping dramatically on
Monday and Tuesday with the hot humid weather. The winds and weather look
good for the weekend, but unfortunately the winds that bring in songbirds,
also bring in stable flies. If you've never encountered them, they
resemble a house fly, but they BITE! Repellants don't work well for these
guys, so I just wanted to remind everyone to have long pants and closed
toed should with them, so you will have a positive experience in the park
this weekend.

The marsh continues to be productive for shorebirds. Canoe rentals are
still available at this time of year, or bring your own canoe or kayak.
The shorebirds have been using the mudflats along the edges of the ponds.

We've finally started to see some movement of Monarch butterflies as well
- feel free to join our Monarch Count at the Tip parking lot at 7 pm on
Friday.

Safe travels and I look forward to seeing many of you this weekend.

Good Birding
Sarah
