13.6-24 C. Light winds started early out of the north, but gradually
shifted to the southwest as the day progressed. Clouds were present in the
morning and afternoon and absent midday.
Raptor Observations:
A very entertaining day of migration today. The first push of numbers of
Broad-winged Hawks occured late this morning into the early afternoon. A
nice showing by American Kestrels and Northern Harriers as well. Harriers
and American Kestrels were up high at dawn this morning moving west.
Non-raptor Observations:
Red-headed Woodpecker was seen again today, and nice numbers of
Ruby-throated Hummingbirds zipped by. Lots of thrushes were heard giving
their flight calls this morning at dawn, and there was a nice variety of
passerines flitting around at the base of the tower.
