Visitors:
Many visitors again today for the Sunday edition of the Festival of Hawks.
We even managed to get two equestrian visitors, but they didn't quite make
it to the top of the tower.
Weather:
Sunny and warm today, with a few scattered clouds. Temperatures 11-22 C.
Winds early were out of the northeast but shifted midday to the southeast.
Raptor Observations:
A few migrating raptors today. Nice diversity, but not huge numbers. Many
of the hawks got up high quickly with the warm temperatures and sun.
Non-raptor Observations:
Today we had the first small groups of migrating Blue Jays moving, with a
total of 774 tallied. A lone Sandhill Crane north over the marsh was
exciting, as was a single Stilt Sandpiper mixed in with a flock of Lesser
Yellowlegs.
