Weather: Cloudy all day today. Light winds out of the south/southwest. Temperature ranged from 15-18 C. Light rain began in the last hour of the count. Raptor Observations: A pretty decent raptor flight given the winds. Falcons put in a strong showing, as did Osprey. An adult Bald Eagle was seen pursuing an adult Peregrine Falcon carrying prey (Blue Jay, odds are!) for about one minute. They twisted and turned all around the tower, and the Bald Eagle did an impressive job of keeping up with the Peregrine. A seperate Peregrine Falcon took a few runs at a flock of Blue-winged Teal over the marsh. Non-raptor Observations: Lots of Blue Jays again today (33780), along with a nice movement of Tree Swallows and Chimney Swifts. An Orange-crowned Warbler was mixed in with the warbler flock around the tower, as were two Indigo Buntings.
