Hello Ontbirders, Happy Thanksgiving!
On the advice of Ellen Smout, I visited the flooded field in Comber in the evening and was rewarded with excellent views of shorebirds including 7 Hudsonian Godwits. There seemed to be much more variety tonight than I had seen on Saturday afternoon. I took some pictures of these incredible shorebirds if anyone is interested: http://dwaynejava.blogspot.com/2011/10/better-looks-at-hudsonian-godwits-and.html Shorebirds seen tonight are basically the same list of birds seen in Ellen's original posting (below). It seemed like there was a great drop in Golden Plovers though. Good birding! Dwayne Murphy Directions: Go 1 km north of the intersection of County Rd 42 and Comber side road. Look on the East side of the road just past the Agris Co-op plant. ________________________________ From: Ellen Smout <[email protected]> To: OntBirds <[email protected]>; Sent: Friday, October 7, 2011 8:49:54 PM Subject: [Ontbirds] Shorebirds Hi all Large number and variety of shorebirds late this afternoon 1 km north of County Rd 42 on the east side of Comber side road.
