Total observation time: 9.5 hours

Official Counter: Stephen Kolbe

Observers: Claude Radley, Jim McCoy

Visitors:
Six visitors to the tower today. Visitors included Lilli from Kitchener
and Sue from Waterloo who were treated to views of Osprey, Bald Eagles,
Red-tailed Hawks and many of the local birds in the marsh.

Weather:
Changeable weather today. It started off looking like rain, but instead we
got patches of clouds and sun. Mild temperatures and light winds out of
the south. Fog and haze throughout the day limited visibilty.

Raptor Observations:
Yet another slow day of migration. Two Osprey were seen a few times
throughout the day engaging in what can only be described as "migration
drills". They would appear from the east together and soar around for a
while before perching around the marsh, returning to the east, and starting
all over again.

Non-raptor Observations:
An American Bittern flew over the marsh from one reed bed to the next,
giving nice views. A flock of 15 Black-bellied Plovers went past going
west. A Lincoln's Sparrow was heard and seen under the tower in the
afternoon. Other birds detected from the tower:

Predictions:
Overcast with a chance of rain in the morning, then mostly cloudy. High of
15C. Winds from the WNW at 35 km/h.

Sounds quite a bit better than what we've been seeing for the better part
of two weeks now. Let's hope for some birds!
