Hi all,

Yesterday I saw a juvenile RED PHALAROPE during the early evening at the
Alfred sewage lagoons (East cell) on Peat Moss road. It was still in the
same area this morning. It can be viewed from the tower (free access). See
following link for map showing where the lagoons are or go to Alfred and
follow the road signs to the lagoons:

Do not enter within the fenced area unless you have a permit. This is being
strictly enforced particularly during the hunting season. For more
information on how to obtain a permit contact Martin Guindon at (613)
673-4797 (extension 244) during the week.

There were also Black-bellied Plover (62), A. Golden Plover (8),
White-rumped Sandpiper (25), Dunlin (30), Ruddy Duck (12), a Peregrine
Falcon (1) and much more. If the falcon has just made a pass at the
shorebirds it is likely you will not see any for at least 30 minutes. Be
patient, they will come back. Good luck!
