I, likewise, was going to post about the excellent recent issue of North
American Bird (NAB) with considerable Ontario content, but Margaret beat
me to it with her message dated October 28.

Some additional comments in addition to what Margaret has already
covered:

Every issue also includes an extensive collection of superb photos of
various rarities from across the continent; Ontario is often allocated
12-14+ photos per issue.

Each issue covers a single season and the Ontario editors are as follows:

Winter (December 1 to February 28) -- Blake Mann

Spring (March 1 to May 31) -- Alan Wormington

Summer (June 1 to July 31) -- Bill Crins

Fall (August 1 to November 30) -- Margaret Bain

The Ontario report is based on sightings gathered by a network of
regional compilers from across the entire province. These local
compilations near-term are used for such projects as North American
Birds. Longer-term they are used for a myriad of other projects,
including regional bird books the most recent being those published for
Niagara (2010) and Hamilton (2206) and others in the works. Thus
providing sightings to your local compiler ensures that they will be
included in various projects. Anyone needing to know who their area
compiler might be can contact either myself of Margaret Bain. My
apologies to those that have already asked but I failed to reply .... I'm
working on it (my computer crashed recently).

Back to North American Birds. The excellence of this publication can not
be overstated. As for cost, it is excellent value for the money.

of North American Birds, can be found here:

The above passage includes a cover scan of the recent (winter) issue,

Brandon R. Holden.
