Further to the earliers reports... on a "Non-birding" trip to Niagara Falls, My
wife , daughter and I saw...
THREE (3) Black Vultures riding the thermals at eye-level over the Niagara
River where the Niagara Parkway intersect the Butterfly Farm entrance ( with a
couple of Turkey Vultures) { at 12:15 pm).
Peregrine Falcon at the Falls. ( 11:00 AM)
Razorbill was diving a great deal off Fort-Niagara in the vicinity of a Coot. (
3:10 pm). Seen from Park in NOTL
The lake was very placid and many ducks were in for great views ( all 3
scoters many many Red-throated Loons, two Common Loons, Horned Grebes, etc.)
Northern Shrike, in vineyard north of NOTL halfway to St. Catherines.
Only seven species of Larinae (Gulls).

Directions (from previous posts):
> For Razorbill....From the QEW, travel east towards Niagara. Take the 38B
> Glendale/Regional Road 89 exit, and turn right on Taylor Road. Head west,
> parallel to the highway,
until Taylor Road turns right and crosses the highway. At this point it is
called Niagara Stone Road. Follow
Niagara Stone Road into Niagara-on-the-lake. At this point, the road will now
be
known as Mississauga Street.Turn right on Queen St, and then the third left
onto Victoria Street. Turn right
onto Front Street and the Queen's Royal Park will be on the left. This spot has
a pretty good view of the river mouth.
For Black Vultures.. from Sir Adam Back Power station at Queenstone, drive 500
m toward Niagara Falls, on The Niagara Parkway, and look for The Butterfly Farm
sign ( Before you reach the "Whirlpool" area.)
