Hi Ontbirders:

Not surprising the Greater White-Fronted Goose was not refound again today at
the same location. Previous sightings of this species at Andrew Haydon Park
during Fall migration have lasted at most a day and a half and usually less.

The green-winged teals were still present but less Scaup were seen (maybe 3
dozen were seen the day before). it comes and goes.

Had very good looks at a male Long-Tailed Duck thanks to another birders tip.
Although not quite as close as he had seen it earlier.

The highlight of the day was a possible Short-Eared Owl (Long-Eared was the
other option but based on wing-span I'm leaning toward SEO) was at dusk so was
hard to see. Fortunately it flew next to the road so that's how I noticed it.
I was able to follow it's low flight over the ground with the binoculars.
Although there are a couple if locations in Ottawa where these owls have been
known to be seen, this is the first time I've seen one at this place just
outside of Ottawa. Unfortunately, I'm not able to provide the location. Thanks.
