Ontbirds subscribers,

At the annual meeting of the Ontario Bird Records Committee (OBRC) on April
1st, the following changes to the North and South Review Lists were decided:

Black Vulture and Lark Sparrow have been deleted from the South Review List
effective 1 January 2012. The OBRC will no longer review documentation for
these species in the South for 2012 occurrences but encourages observers to
document these for your local North American Birds compiler. The committee will
still be interested in reviewing all pre-2012 occurrences for these species in
the South.

Eastern Towhee and Lark Sparrow have been deleted from the North Review List
effective 1 January 2012. The OBRC will no longer review documentation for
these species in the North for 2012 occurrences but encourages observers to
document these for
your local North American Birds compiler. The committee will still be
interested in reviewing all pre-2012 occurrences for these species in
the North.

Additional changes to the Review List of Recognizable Forms will be announced
in an update in the next issue of OFO News. Results of the deliberations of
reports for 2011 will be published in the OBRC Report for 2011 in the August
issue of Ontario Birds.

At this meeting the 3 year terms as voting OBRC members for both Ross James and
myself ended. The OBRC has elected Peter Burke and Mark Gawn to 3 year terms as
voting members as our replacements on the 2012 committee and both members have
accepted those duties. In the last year of his current 3 year term as a voting
member, Brandon Holden will assume the Chairperson role for 2012. Mark Cranford
will continue as non-voting Secretary and Alan Wormington will continue as
non-voting Assistant to the Secretary. Mark Peck remains the Royal Ontario
Museum liaison. The remaining voting members are Ken Burrell, Mike Burrell,
Doug McRae and Don Sutherland.

On behalf of the rest of the committee, I would like to thank Ross James for
his continued service on the OBRC for the past three years.

Glenn Coady
Chair, 2011 Ontario Bird Records Committee
