The Second Marsh/McLaughlin Bay area is very active right now. Besides a large
selection of waterfowl, we found 5 Purple Martins among the Tree and Barn
Swallows. It is unknown at this time if any juv Martins were within the
swirling hoard.

Directions:
At Oshawa, Bloor Street crosses the 401 at the Harmony Rd exit. To the north is
Harmony Rd, but to the south is Farewell Street. Take Farewell south to Colonel
Sam Drive and turn left (east). There are several parking areas and trail heads
along the road that eventually goes past the GM headquarters building. If you
continue past to the end of the road there is a turn off to a parking area for
McLaughlin Bay and Darlington Park.

This entire area is good birding.

Good luck!
