An adult Little Blue Heron was sitting along the water's edge below the Great Egret roost site in the woods north of the bridge at Wheatley Harbor this afternoon at 1:00 p.m.. possibly the same bird that was reported at Hillman a day or two ago.

At least 1270 Black-bellied Plovers were in 11 different "plover fields" between Wheatley Harbor and Merlin Road along Talbot Line [Hwy 3] in southwest Chatham-Kent. Ruddy Turnstones numbered only 20 with 3 along the east beach at Wheatley harbor and 9 in one of the Black-bellied Plover flocks. A couple of birders who stopped to talk to us as we were scanning fields for plovers told us that they had estimated about 2200 Black-bellied Plovers in the Hillman shorebird cell around 1:00 p.m. today.
