In intermittent showers this morning, I observed a Lawrence's Warbler amidst a
fair number of Blue-winged Warblers in the Merrick Orchard of the Dundas Valley
Conservation Area.

I later found a backcross Brewster's warbler, again with several Blue-winged
Warblers, about halfway down Artaban Road, which also runs within the DVCA. I
did not see any Golden-winged Warblers at either location although I have seen
them in both spots in previous years.

The Dundas Valley Conservation Area is located just west of Hamilton and has
several access points from the towns of Dundas and Ancaster. I believe that
maps of the Dundas Valley's trail system are available from the Hamilton
Region Conservation Authority's office, online and at the Dundas Valley Trail
Centre.
