Greetings,
Sorry for the late post.Yesterday afternoon (Tues. June 12), my wife
spotted 11 great blue herons standing in a soybean field east of
Modeland Road Sarnia and north of Highway 402, Sarnia.The field is
adjacent to and south of the Suncor Energy Foundation Nature Way.She
checked carefully to make sure that they were not sandhill cranes owing
to their location in a field with no pond/marsh.She also noted that the
woods of the Wawanosh Wetlands (immediately east) were "filled" with
yellow warblers.

Directions:Highway 402.Turn at Modeland Road exit.Proceed north.Suncor
Energy Foundation Nature Way is located on the right (east side), before
the intersection of Berger Road.A small parking lot is available.This
strip of parkland connects via a pedestrian bridge to the Wawanosh
Wetlands Conservation Area.Wawanosh Wetlands is also accessible via
Blackwell Side Road (not Blackwell Road).A parking lot is also available
there.The narrow driveway to the Wawanosh Wetlands is located on the
west side between the Highway 402 overpass (no access from Highway 402)
and Michigan Line.
