At 1:50 this afternoon Ross Wood saw an immature frigatebird soaring west along
Long Point in the vicinity of the old provincial park. Despite chasing it along
Erie Blvd., he could not relocate it once he reached Hastings Drive. Several of
us from the BSC HQ were out searching for it all afternoon but to this point it
has not been seen again.

While the bird appeared to be heading west, it may as easily have turned and
headed back east along the Point. Somewhere on the north shore of Lake Erie
there is a frigatebird.

Long Point can be reached by driving south on Highway 59 from the 401 at
Woodstock.
