The Western Grebe on the Ottawa River was still there as of 3pm today. When I first arrived at the boat launch near Rivermead, it was swimming close enough to shore to easily identify with binoculars (but then went much further out.)
Directions: Cross the Champlain Bridge into Quebec and take the first left onto Lucerne. Park in the lot for Deschenes Rapids Park (past the Chaudiere parking lot.) The boat launch is a short walk southwest along the bike path.
