This morning a mixed flock of largely Cedar Waxwings had a sprinkling of Bohemian Waxwings in it. They were on the east side of County Road 25 opposite Tim Horton’s at exit 497 off Highway 401 at Colborne. There is a large gated parking lot for commercial vehicles. The birds were in the tall trees along the south edge of that lot. A flock of Common Redpolls with a single Hoary Redpoll was under a feeder at the lakeside of 186 Bayshore Road at Presqu’ile this morning until a fox scared them off, not to be seen again.
