Posting for Wayne Renaud: Wayne just texted me to say he located a cave swallow flying west along the large pines behind the white apartment building at the south (lakeside) end of 13th Street, which borders Col. Sam Smith Park to the east.
Presumably, this is the same bird seen earlier today at the water treatment building at Sam Smith and which had last been seen shortly after 11:00am. Andrew Keaveney (who arrived shortly after noon to look) and I walked the park for over an hour but had been unable to relocate the bird. We were joined by Wayne at around 1:15pm who stayed behind to search after Andrew and I left. Col. Sam Smith Park is located along Lake Ontario just south of the intersection of Kipling and Lakeshore.
