There were four Purple Sandpipers foraging together, sometimes on the same rock, at Pipit Point on the LSS this afternoon. The spit is closed during the week, so this is really just a heads up to watch for these birds in general, as they seem to be numerous this year. I wish somebody would put up a permanent sign that shows the areas of the spit with proper names on them.
