I searched the Meadowview Road and rail trail area west of Highway 7 for about 5 hours yesterday. With a tip from Martin Parker, I looked in the 3rd field west of the overpass on Hwy 7 and found the owl perched about 3 metres above the ground in the tree line on the north side of the grassy field. The overpass is about 120 metres north of the intersection of Meadowview and Hwy 7. I parked on the side of the road beyond the overpass and walked south and crossed under the overpass to reach the trail. I'd say it is about 1200 metres from there to the field. There is a green metal gate on the south side of the trail where Farmer MacDonald crosses the trail to his northern field. Dave Milsom told me he found the owl about 400 metres from the overpass on Monday.
