In the area visiting friends for New Year's, my son and I took a trip out to Pelee this morning to kick off our 2013 list. Highlights were a perched Red-Shouldered Hawk at Northwest Beach, a beautiful adult Bald Eagle that flew right over our car as we neared the park exit and then a nice Snowy Owl that flew across the road in front of us, right at Erie Shores golf course. Also many Great Black-backed gulls at the tip, we counted at least 12. Happy New Year!
