Today Eleanor Thomson found a Boreal Owl in downtown Merrickville. She spotted it moving lying in the snow and barely moving, and picked it up. It died in her hands a few minutes later so there is no need for me to post directions to the cadaver. The owl appeared to lack meat around its breastbone so starvation is likely. Despite the bird being dead, I thought I should still post the sighting as it is a good winter record.
