The male Barrow's Goldeneye at the Hurdman Bridge crossing the Rideau River
was there today at 11:30 am and is not a hybrid. I have always seen it with
Common Goldeneyes at this location this winter. About 200 m upstream
(south) of the bridge, at the back of the Ottawa Univ. football
stadium (off Lees Ave.) were about 15 Bohemian Waxwings. Another group of
the latter were in the heart of Westboro at 12:30 pm in the east end of the
park at the corner of Richmond and Golden Ave. I have not been able to pick
out any Cedar Waxwings with the Bohemians yet this winter.
