A great day along the river today in the Niagara area with a mix of sun, cloud
and light flurry's.

A Belted Kingfisher was observed behind the old pumphouse across from Dufferin
Islands on the Niagara Pkwy. The bird was sitting in a tree at the end of the
metal pedestrian bridge.

A pair of Tufted Titmouse were present at Dufferin Island, stop at the first
parking lot on the entry road and bird the first pedestrian bridge.

No Purple Sandpiper seen today, the famous 'Purple Sandpiper rocks' are frozen
over and the river level was high, although things were melting quickly in the
afternoon and perhaps they will return.

A Fish Crow was heard amongst American Crow's and I was able to make a record
of this, they were missed in the morning, but found in the afternoon at
Sugarbowl Park at Gilmore Rd & Central Ave. in Fort Erie, check the fields next
to the abandon factory and listen for the distinctive call. I could not tell
which bird was making the call although everybody says 'they are smaller' yes?
- but Crow's seem to come in all sizes, and they are all black when it's cloudy!

Lots of Gulls on the river and at Adam Beck as usuall, observed an unusually
high number of Great Black-backed Gulls today for some reason?
